Two assumptions break most smart switches: that your wiring is modern, and that your internet never drops. Here is how we designed around both, and where the limits actually sit.
Older switch drops often carry only a live and a switched live, with the neutral waiting up at the fitting. Ours draws a few milliamps through the connected fixture into a supercapacitor to stay awake. Works with most dimmable LED fittings; below about 3 W you fit the bypass capacitor in the box.
Schedules, scenes and the presence logic all run on the switch itself, so they keep working when the line goes down. You do lose remote access and voice assistants until it comes back, because those genuinely need the network. Nothing else changes.
Certified to Matter 1.3, so one switch can sit in Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa at the same time. Thread does need a border router, but if you own a recent HomePod, Nest Hub or Echo you already have one and there is nothing extra to buy.
Current is sampled once a second and averaged into fifteen-minute buckets, ninety days of which stay on the device. Accuracy is ±2% above 5 W, which is the range that actually matters. Export the lot as CSV whenever you want; it is your data.
Listed to UL 20 in North America, EN 60669 in Europe and AS/NZS 3112 in Australia and New Zealand, in a UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant housing. The relay is normally open, so a brownout, a firmware fault or a dead board all leave the circuit off rather than stuck on.
Updates are signed and arrive over the air, and every model gets a published support end date rather than a vague promise. When that date passes the switch carries on as an ordinary Matter device, because none of its everyday behaviour depends on our servers.
We don't white-label. Tooling, boards, firmware and final assembly all happen under one roof, which is why we can answer questions about how a unit was built and fix it when something is wrong.

In most regions, yes, and we recommend one regardless. Replacing a switch means working on a live circuit, and rules differ by country. The physical install takes a qualified electrician about ten minutes per switch. If you're in the US, check whether your local code permits homeowner replacement of an existing switch.

SUNSWERE uses a supercapacitor that trickle-charges through the connected fixture, so it stays powered without one. Very low-wattage LED fixtures under 3 W may still need the bypass module included in the box.
Yes. The switches are Matter devices, so they pair directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Home Assistant without ever touching our servers, and automations run on the device itself. A paired switch turns your lights on whether or not we are still here. What you would lose is future firmware updates and our remote-access relay.
The module is 39 mm deep and fits standard US single-gang, UK 35 mm, EU 60 mm round and AU/NZ mounting blocks. The faceplate is 88 × 88 mm for EU, UK and AU/NZ, and 70 × 115 mm for US Decora-style openings. The Socket also comes in four socket patterns: NEMA 5-15, BS 1363, Schuko CEE 7/3 and AS/NZS 3112. By default, none. Pairing happens over Bluetooth, control over Thread on your local network. If you opt into remote access we relay encrypted commands only. We never see your energy history, schedules, or occupancy data, because it never leaves the device unless you export it yourself.
